Thirty people joined our walk from Netley Abbey along to Royal Victoria Country Park. We stopped at the Water Fowl Lake to watch the ducks , geese and moorhens before moving into the Park.  A path through the woods led us to a rest area where many of us made for the cafeteria for refreshments all round.  We then followed the inland path for a while before circling round past the Chapel ( all that is left of the Military Hospital building ) down to the edge of Southampton Water.  Our plan to finish along the foreshore had to be changed because the tide had not dropped enough to give a clear beach.  Back at the Abbey balloons and ball point pens were given to the children in recognition of their completing the walk.
